Barishal BRTC to launch special Eid service from June 3

BARISHAL, May 20, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) Barishal depot will launch Eid-ul-Azha special services from June 3 aiming to ensure smooth travel for Eid passengers.

"Currently 33 buses are operating on various routes from Barishal bus depot. The number of buses will be increased as part of the Eid special service to meet the growing demand," Md Jamil Hossain, manager of BRTC's Barishal depot told BSS here today.

Advance ticket sales for all routes will begin on May 24 to facilitate early bookings for Eid travellers.

In addition to road transport, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) will enforce strict monitoring of passenger vessels operating from Barishal to other destinations during the Eid rush.

According to a local BIWTA official, dedicated manpower and volunteers will be deployed to ensure the safety and security of passengers.

Advance tickets for water transport will be available both online and at booking counters starting May 22.
