JHENAIDAH, May 28, 2025 (BSS) - An elderly man was beaten to death at Maliat village under Kaliganj upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Nayeb Ali Molla, 65, of the village.

Nayeb Ali Molla had a conflict with Yunus Ali of the same village over a disputed land. On Wednesday morning around 11 am, both sides locked into a clash over the land at the village. At that time, Yunus Ali and his son Alamin Hossain hit on the head of Nayeb Ali with stick, said Shahidul Islam Howlader, Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station.

Family members rescued Nayeb Ali and took him to the Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
