KHULNA, June 24, 2025 (BSS) – BNP leaders in a human chain here today demanded immediate arrest of those who recently shot Dipak Kumar Biswas, an acting headmaster of Telegati Secondary School.

They also demanded arrest of illegal arms holders, drug dealers and users.

The BNP leaders made the demand while speaking during the human chain programme organized at the Fulbarigate bus stand in protest against the alleged attempt on the life of the school teacher and recent terrorist activities of the leaders of banned Awami League and its associate bodies.

Organised by Khanjahan Ali Thana Unit BNP, Rakibul Islam Bakul, BNP National Executive Committee’s Student Affairs Secretary, addressed the event as chief guest with Khanjahan Ali Thana Unit BNP president Kazi Mizanur Rahman in the chair.

The chief guest Bakul said, “For 16 long years, we were on the streets, and through a student-public uprising, we forced the tyrant Hasina to resign”.

“We believe that once Sheikh Hasina fled, the people would live in peace, conduct business freely, and children could pursue education without fear. But although Sheikh Hasina fled the country, the terrorists she left behind have changed colours and are rising again,” he said.

He further said that the people, students, and youth did not sacrifice their lives and shed blood in July and August only to see terrorism return and spread fear again.

Criticizing the police, Bakul said, “Even though Dipak Kumar Sarkar had previously filed a general diary (GD) at the police station regarding threats, the police failed to ensure his safety. Just as we got united to oust Hasina, we must now unite again to resist these terrorists.”
He issued a warning, stating that if terrorist activities continue in Khanjahan Ali Thana or anywhere in Khulna city, BNP will resist them through united movements on the streets.

He also urged the police administration to be more attentive to public sentiment.

Speaking as a special guest, City BNP President Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona demanded the immediate arrest of those who shot Dipak Sarkar.

Conducted by General Secretary of Khanjahan Ali Thana BNP Abu Sayeed Hawlader Abbas, the event addressed, among others, by City BNP General Secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, Organization Secretary Sheikh Sadi, and Women leader Rehena Isa.
