CHATTOGRAM, August 19, 2025 (BSS) - RAB-7 personnel here arrested three illegal drug peddlers along with 35 kilograms of ganja and seized a CNG-run auto-rickshaw used for carrying drugs from Korerhat under Zorarganj thana in the district last night. 

The arrested persons were identified as Md Iqbal Hossain Majumder, 37, Sushanta Sutra Dhar, 31, and Md Ali Azgar Liton . Of them, Iqbal and Liton hailed from Ramgar area while Sushanta from Anandapara area of Khagrachari district. 

The seized ganja is worth about Tk. 5.5 lakh, RAB said. 

Acting on a tip off, a RAB team set up temporary check post at Korerhat of Zoraganj thana of Chattogram district and arrested the drug traders along with the ganjas after searching a Dhaka-Ctg highway bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw last night. 

During primary interrogation, the arrested persons confessed to RAB that they have been engaged in supplying ganjas in different areas of Chattogram district and city for a long time and they used to collect those from different bordering points of Khagrachari district. 

RAB authority handed over the detainees to Zorarganj police for further legal action.
