“A total of 47 nomination papers were collected for the JUCSU and 155 for hall unions on the second day, while on the first day 47 and 86 papers were collected respectively,” said Prof Rashidul.

He said the deadline for collecting nomination papers has been extended by one day following student requests.

“As the university will remain closed tomorrow on the occasion of ‘Akhiri Chahar Shomba,’ the final date for collection and submission of nomination papers will be Thursday,” he added.

Meanwhile, the authorities have banned all kind of programmes, gatherings, events, and assemblies of more than 25 persons on the campus until September 12, 2025, to ensure a fair electoral environment centering the JUCSU and hall union polls.
