Mother, infant daughter electrocuted in Magura

MAGURA, June 25, 2025 (BSS) - A woman and her infant daughter tragically died after being electrocuted at Tila village in Sadar upazila here this morning.

The deceased were Setu Khatun, 35, wife of Awal Hossain, a resident of the same village and her 8-month old daughter Anisa.

Family sources said the mother and daughter electrocuted together while connecting the power to the rice cooker.

They were rescued and rushed to 250-bed Magura District Hospital where the on duty doctors declared them dead. 

Sub-Inspector of Magura Sadar Police Station Wahidul Sheikh confirmed the matter.
