BSF pushes 9 more individuals into Bangladesh thru Khagrachhari border

KHAGRACHHARI, June 26, 2026 (BSS) - The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed nine more individuals, including women and children, into Bangladesh through the Shantipur border in Matiranga upazila today, bringing the total number of people forcibly pushed in to 154.

Matiranga Upazila Executive Officer Manjur Alam said the group is currently being housed at Belchhari High School under the supervision of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

He added that efforts are underway to verify the identities of those pushed in.

According to the district administration, the BSF have so far pushed in 154 individuals through various points along the Khagrachhari border.
