BCL leader among two killed in Jashore road accident

JASHORE, June 26, 2025 (BSS) - Two individuals, including a former leader of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were killed and two others were injured in a road accident in the Notunhat area on Jessore-Benapole road early today.
 
The deceased were identified as Masudur Rahman Milon (40), a former sports affairs secretary of the BCL's Jessore district unit and Jui (30), wife of Liton Hossain. 
 
The injured are Mamun (32), son of Farid Hossain of Katakhali Betaga village in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat, and Masud (45), son of the late Nur Islam of Erenda village in Jessore Sadar upazila. 
 
The accident took place around 4 am today when a private car carrying the four lost control in the Notunhat area and hit a roadside tree while heading towards Benapole from Jashore town, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jessore Kotwali Police Station Abul Hasnat. 

Two of them died on the spot, while the remaining two sustained critical injuries.

Locals rushed to the spot, rescued the injured, and took them to Jashore General Hospital, the OC added.

Later, the police recovered the bodies of the two deceased and sent them to the Jashore General Hospital morgue.
