5 held, 3 stolen motorcycles recovered in Rangpur

RANGPUR, July 5, 2025 (BSS) - Pirgachha police in separate raids recovered three stolen motorcycles and arrested five members of a motorcycle theft gang in separate raids in different areas of the district on Friday night.
 
Pirgachha police station officer-in-charge (OC) Noor Alam Siddiqui confirmed the matter to BSS on Saturday afternoon. 
 
"On a tip-off, we conducted raids at different areas of the district on Friday night, recovered three stolen motorcycles and arrested five members of the gang of thieves on charges of being involved in the thefts," he said. 
 
The arrested persons were: Abdul Monnaf, 34, and Hashem Ali, 35, of village Satvita in Pirgachha upazila of Rangpur, Mamun Mia, 30, Badsha Mia, 30, and Shahidul Islam, 30, of different villages in Gaibandha district.
 
The OC urged the real owners to contact Pirgachha police station SI Shafiqul Islam Akand with the necessary documents to get their stolen motorcycles back.
