NAOGAON, Aug 19, 2025 (BSS) - Police early today arrested two brothers from Kaliganj in Singra upazila of Natore district in a case of beating their uncle to death with sticks at Atrai Upazila of Naogaon on Monday.

The arrested are Md. Babu and his brother Md. Alim, sons of late Alauddin of Tejanandi Bhatopara village of the upazila.

Atrai Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Mannan confirmed their arrest. 

They were sent to jail in the murder on Tuesday afternoon, he also said. 

According the case details, Azizur Rahman, 65, had an argument with his nephews around 7 pm last Monday over a land dispute. At one stage of the argument, the detained two brothers attacked Azizur and beat him mercilessly to death. 

Mukul Hossain, son of the victim, filed a murder case with Atrai Police Station accusing seven persons including the two siblings.
