CHATTOGRAM, July 6, 2025 (BSS) - Kotwali Thana police arrested five alleged members of a dacoit gang in the city’s CRB area last night.

The arrested are - Md Sakib,24, Md Hossain,20, Shahid Hossain,22, Abu Taher,28 and Sabbir Hossain,19.

OC Md Abdul Karim, of Kotwali Thana said that police arrested the five alleged dacoits while they were preparing for a robbery targeting vehicles and pedestrians at the CRB Sat Rastar Matha area in the city. 

The gang used to roam around the city and district in private cars, in search of opportunities to commit robberies, he added.

Later, a Ramada (local weapon), knives, and a gold ring were recovered from them.
