Man electrocuted in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, July 7, 2025 (BSS): An elderly auto-rickshaw driver was electrocuted while disconnecting his auto-rickshaw charger in Kendua upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Ratan Mia, 55, son of late Motaleb Hossain of Raipur Purbo Para village under Maskai Union in the upazila.

The incident occurred around 10 am when Ratan Mia tried to unplug the charger of his battery-run auto-rickshaw, which he had kept on charge overnight, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kendua Police Station Md Mizanur Rahman.

Family members immediately rescued him and rushed him to Kendua Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the OC added.
