Zero tolerance against crimes being enforced: Cox's Bazar DC

COX'S BAZAR, July 13, 2025 (BSS) - Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Cox's Bazar Mohammad Salahuddin today said law enforcement agencies are strictly following a zero tolerance policy against criminal activities, including mob justice and extortion.

"Strict vigilance is underway to maintain law and order in the district," he said.

He made the remarks while addressing the monthly meeting of the District Law and Order Committee at the Shaheed ATM Jafar Alam Conference Room of the DC's office. The meeting was presided over by the deputy commissioner.

At the outset of the meeting, the DC offered prayers for the eternal peace of the martyrs of the July movement. He also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of three Chittagong University students who drowned recently.

Moderated by Additional District Magistrate M Shahidul Alam, the meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police M Saifuddin Shahin, Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammadul Huq, and Secretary of Cox's Bazar Development Authority Sanjida Begum, among others.

The meeting discussed a range of issues including the law and order situation, price stability of essentials, prevention of drug trafficking, enforcement of the polythene ban, implementation of jute packaging, and measures to reduce traffic congestion.
