RANGPUR, July 14, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 rescued a kidnapped teenage girl and arrested the prime accused from the Namatari area under Sadar upazila of Lalmonirhat district on Sunday afternoon.
The arrested person was identified as Md Abdullah Al Ghalib, 19, son of Md Taiyab Ali of Mohishkhoncha Dakur Khamar village under Aditmari police station in the district, said a press release issued by the elite force.
According to the release, the incident occurred on the night of September 15, 2024, when the victim, a resident of the same village, went out around 11:30 pm to respond to the call of nature. At that time, Abdullah Al Ghalib along with his accomplices forcibly abducted her and took her to an unknown location.
Following the incident, the victim's father lodged a case with Aditmari police station on October 6, 2024.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-13's Sadar Company conducted an operation in the Namatari area and arrested the main accused Abdullah Al Ghalib. The victim was also rescued during the drive conducted at around 4:05 pm on Sunday.
Later, the arrested person and the rescued girl were handed over to Aditmari police station for further legal action, the release added.
