MEHERPUR July 14, 2025 (BSS) - A couple died from electrocution at Chaugachha village under Gangni upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased were Kibria Hossain, 55, and his wife Rina Khatun, 46, residents of the area.
 
Kibria was electrocuted while taking out his bicycle from the house and his wife also got electrocuted while trying to rescue him. 

Locals rescued and took them to Gangni Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gangni Police Station Bani Israel confirmed the death of the couple due to electrocution.
