KHAGRACHARI, July 24, 2025 (BSS) – Two persons died from electrocution and one was injured in the Boropara area of Sadar upazila of the district this afternoon.
 
The deceased were Pankaj Tripura, 50, son of Muchi Kumar Tripura, and Upen Tripura.
 
Locals said they were electrocuted after coming into contact with a hanging electric wire on the side of the road in the Baropara area. Upen Tripura died on the spot, and Pankaj Tripura was taken to the hospital in serious condition, where the doctor declared him dead.
 
Injured Chandrarani Tripura is currently undergoing treatment at Khagrachari Sadar Hospital.
 
Khagrachari Model Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Md Abdul Baten Mridha confirmed the incident.
