Two brothers killed in Feni bus accident

FENI, July 25, 2025 (BSS) - Two siblings were killed in a bus accident in Feni while trying to rescue a fallen pickup van in roadside ditch.

The tragic accident took place Thursday midnight at Temuhani Bazar area on Feni-Noakhali regional highway, police said.

The two deceased brothers are Mosharraf Hossain, 38, and his younger brother Ekram Hossain, 32. They were working with Barzar Paint Company.

Police and witness said that Ekram Hossain Nirab, a pickup driver of the company, was returning home at Hirapur in Daganbhuiyan's Jayalskar Union at night. On the way, when he reached Temuhani Bazar area, he lost control and the pickup van fell in the roadside ditch.

On information of the road crash, Mosharraf Hossain and his younger brother went to rescue the pickup from there. 

As they were being towed by another pickup van, a Lal Sabuj Paribahan bus from Chittagong to Noakhali ran over them, leaving one dead on the spot.

The other died on the way to the hospital, the witness said.

Mahipal Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harun ur Rashid said that following an application, the bodies of the two brothers were handed over to the family.
