Fireworks, shrimp renu worth Tk 1cr seized in Cumilla

CUMILLA, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) launched   drives in different areas of Chauddagram border of the district from Friday night to Saturday morning and seized smuggled goods worth over Taka one crore.   

A special patrol team of BGB-10 Cumilla Battalion conducted the drives and seized 1,20,000 pieces of Indian fireworks and 42 drums of shrimp renu along with a truck, said BGB-10 Cumilla Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mir Ali Ejaz this afternoon.

The market value of the seized goods is about Taka 1.22 crore.

Lieutenant Colonel Mir Ali Ejaz said that the seized goods, including the truck, were handed over to the Customs Department. Regular operations are continuing to prevent smuggling and cross-border crimes in the border areas.
