NOAKHALI, July 27, 2025 (BSS) – Two minor boys drowned in a pond at Ward No-4 of Charparbati union under Companiganj upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased were Md. Ibrahim, 5, son of Sajeeb, and his cousin Md. Nadim, 4, son of Oman expatriate Md. Sharif, residents of Darji Bepari house of the union.

According to family members, Ibrahim and Nadim went to the pond near their house for catching fish around 8 am and suddenly one of them fell into the pond water. The other child also jumped into the water to save his cousin brother. 

As family members started searching, they were rescued from the pond and taken to Companiganj Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.
