Farmer electrocuted in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT, July 29, 2025 (BSS) - A 60-year-old farmer died after being electrocuted at Doani crossing area under Fakirpara union of Hatibandha upazila in the district this afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Mujibur Rahman, a resident of Ramniganj village in the same upazila.

According to eyewitnesses, Mujibur went to a nearby land with a cow when he accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire submerged in water.

Locals rescued him and took to Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. 

Hatibandha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mahmudun-Nabi confirmed the incident.
