DINAJPUR, Aug 5, 2025 (BSS) - Import and export activities through the Hili land port in Dinajpur remained suspended today in observance of the national holiday marking the July Uprising Day.

All trading operations, including import and export, were halted for the day to commemorate the anniversary of the historic mass uprising.

However, cross-border movement of passport-holding passengers continued without interruption, as immigration services at the port remained operational.

President of the Hili C&F Agents Association Ferdous Rahman confirmed the suspension of trade activities, saying, "Tuesday, August 5, has been declared a government holiday in observance of July Uprising Day. All import-export operations at the land port are closed for the day."

He added that trade activities will resume on Wednesday morning.

Officer-in-Charge of Hili Immigration Checkpost Ariful Islam said passport-holding passengers will still be allowed to travel through the port's immigration checkpost without any restrictions.
