DHAKA, Aug 5, 2025 (BSS) - The nationalist Dhaka University (DU) teachers' organization, Sada Dal (White Panel), today brought out a victory rally on the campus marking anniversary of the end of Awami League regime.

During the event, speakers remembered the sacrifices of the martyrs, highlighted the achievements of the movement and reaffirmed their commitment to building a non-discriminatory and democratic Bangladesh.

The leaders and activists of the panel started the rally from foot of the university's Aparajeyo Bangla at 12:45 pm today. Later, the rally went around the Raju statue and ended at the VC's premises.

Earlier, a minute's silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of the July Uprising and the Milestone School and College tragedy.

After that, a discussion was held under the chairmanship of Abdus Salam, Convener of the White Panel.

At the discussion, DU Arts Faculty Dean Siddikur Rahman Khan said, "On this day last year, we witnessed history by standing at Dhaka University, ignoring the bloodied eyes of the fascist government. On today's anniversary, we are once again remembering that sacrifice."

Among others, Open University Vice Chancellor A.B.M. Obaidul Islam and National University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Lutfar Rahman spoke on the occasion.
