RANGPUR, Aug 10, 2025 (BSS) - A special team of Hatibandha Highway Police Station in a raid on the north side of the Teesta Barrage in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat arrested an alleged drug dealer with 200 bottles of phensedyl and a pickup truck early today.
 
On the instructions of Highway Police Rangpur region Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Tariqul Islam, the special team of Hatibandha Highway Police Station led by SI Farid and Sergeant Palash conducted the raid there at 3 am. 

"The arrested person is the pickup driver Md Alamin Babu, 29, of village Hariakanda under Kuliarchar Police Station of Kishoreganj district," SP of the Highway Police Rangpur region Mohammad Tariqul Islam told BSS this noon. 

On a tip off, the special Highway Police team challenged and searched the pickup truck, seized 200 bottles of contraband phensedyl and the pickup truck and arrested its driver Alamin Babu red-handed from the spot. 

"As of writing this report at 12:30 pm, the process of filing a regular drug case in this regard is underway at Hatibandha Police Station in Lalmonirhat district," the Highway Police SP added.
