KHULNA, Aug 15, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna city and district units of BNP today separately celebrated the 81st birthday of its chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia with special prayers.

The programmes included doa and milad mahfil at the BNP offices on KD Ghosh Road in the city around 11 am.

Hundreds of leaders, activists, and supporters joined the prayers seeking Khaleda's quick recovery, good health, and long life, as well as eternal peace for the souls of those martyred in the 1971 Liberation War, the 1990 democratic movement, and the July uprising of 2024.

City Unit BNP President Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona presided over the city programme, attended by General Secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, Organizing Secretaries - Sheikh Sadi and Masud Parvez Babu, and BNP leaders SM Abdur Rahman, Ziaur Rahman Papul, Sayeed Hasan Lavlu, and Rehena Esa, among others.

Similar doa and milad mahfils were also held at Chalna and Dakop Pourashava and in all nine upazilas to mark the occasion.
