Auto-rickshaw driver killed in Chandpur road crash

CHANDPUR, Aug 19, 2025 (BSS) - A tragic road accident claimed the life of an auto-rickshaw driver when a truck collided head-on with his vehicle at Kalivhangti in Sadar upazila on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Bappi, 27, son of Ruhul Amin Khan, a resident of Kalyandi village under Kalyanpur union in the upazila.

The accident occurred around 9:00 PM on the Baburhat-Pennai road when a truck, coming from the opposite direction, struck the CNG-run autorickshaw. Bappi died on the spot due to the impact.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandpur Model Police Station, Md. Bahar Mia, confirmed the incident.
