CHATTOGRAM, Aug 24, 2025 (BSS) - Members of District Police arrested two alleged drug traders with 10,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from Baroyarhat area on the Chattogram-Dhaka highway under Mirsharai upazila of the district early today.

The arrested were identified as Microbus driver Rubel Mia, 45, and his assistant Md Ilias Hossain, 27, both are hailing from Sudaram upazila of Noahkhali district. 

RAB also detained a microbus used for trading the contraband drugs.

On a tip-off, a team of the Zorerganj Thana Police halted a Dhaka-bound Microbus and detained Rubel and Ilias with 10,000 pieces of Yaba tablets at the said area around 12:30 am last night, police said.

The arrested persons confessed that they had been trading the contraband Yaba tablets from different areas under Cox's Bazar district for a long time.

A case was lodged with Mirsharai Thana and the arrested persons along with the seized items were handed over to court, the sources added.
