MANIKGANJ, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS) - Members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested two inter-district dacoits from the Siddique Nagar area under Manikganj Municipality in the early hours of Sunday.

Police also seized two private cars from their possession during the drive.

The arrestees were identified as Hasan Sheikh, 28, son of late Moslem Uddin of Mathavanga village under Labanchara upazila in Khulna district, and Nasir Uddin, 30, son of late Lutfar Mollah of Khairkhali village under Morelganj upazila in Bagerhat district.

Police said the two were involved in several recent incidents of dacoity in different areas of Manikganj district.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj Sadar Police Station SM Aman Ullah said the DB police arrested them based on secret information. He added that the duo had been residing in a rented house in the Keraniganj area under Dhaka district.

The arrestees were produced before the court, the OC added.
