Police return 122 missing mobile phones, Tk 10.18 lakh to owners

MEHERPUR, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS) - Police today returned a total of 122 recovered mobile phones of different brands and Tk 10.18 lakh to their rightful owners in Meherpur.

The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit of district police recovered the mobile phones, which had been lost, stolen or robbed at different times, along with Tk 10,18,300 embezzled through mobile banking fraud.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Maksuda Akhtar Khanam handed over the items to their owners at a press conference held at her office premises around 11:30 am.

Out of the recovered items, 41 mobile phones and the money were recovered from Sadar Police Station, 64 phones from Gangni Police Station and 17 phones from Mujibnagar Police Station.

Additional SP (Crime and Administration) Jaminur Rahman Khan, Additional SP (Sadar Circle) Abdul Karim, Detective Branch (DB) OC Gopal and other officials were also present at the time.
