BGB seizes Indian goods worth Tk 51 lakh in Sherpur

SHERPUR, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), in a drive, 
seized various Indian goods worth about Taka 51 lakh from different border 
areas of Nalitabari and Jhenaigati upazilas of the district today.

On a tip-off, a BGB team of Mymensingh BGB-39 Battalion conducted drive in 
the areas this morning and seized the different types of Indian goods 
includes face wash, Gillette blades, mobile displays and cloth, said 
Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Hasan, commander of the BGB-39 Battalion, said.

The team seized 2,364 pieces of Indian face wash, 250,000 pieces of Gillette 
blades, 500 pieces of mobile displays, 1,150 meters of clothes, one cow and 
four bicycles worth about Taka 51,14,200.

Sensing the presence of the BGB members, the smugglers fled away.
