Two held with 8 gold bars in Chuadanga border

CHUADANGA, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested two alleged smugglers with eight gold bars from Chhoighoriya border of the district this morning.

The arrested are Md. Abdul Momin, 49, and Md. Abul Kalam Azad, 47, of Nastipur village under Darshana Police Station in the district.

Being informed, a BGB team conducted a drive at Chhayghariya border under Darshana Police Station around 8.30 am and recovered eight gold bars weighing 1 kg 162 grams and arrested two smugglers, a BGB press release signed by Chuadanga-6 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Nazmul Hasan said.

The market value of the gold is Taka 1 crore 72 lakh 15 thousand. 

A case was filed with Darshana Police Station in this connection.
