Madrasa student dies from snakebite at Palashbari

GAIBANDHA, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - A female madrasa student died from snakebite at Goneshpur village of Kishorgari union under Palashbari upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was identified as Taslima Akhter, 10, a fifth grade student and daughter of Ashraful Islam of the village.

Family sources said Taslima along with her relatives went out home. A poisonous snake bit the girl while they were returning home at 9 pm.

She was taken to the upazila health complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead. 

Local union Parishad chairman Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the matter.
