District administration orders closure of illegal brick kilns in Bandarban

BANDARBAN, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - The district administration has ordered immediate closure of all illegal and unauthorized brick kiln activities in the district. 

This decision has been taken in accordance with the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act, 2013 (Amended 2019). 

In light of the directive dated July 24, 2025 of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the district administration issued this public notice on Tuesday. 

In a public notice signed by Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini, it was stated that this directive is being implemented to control air pollution and protect the biodiversity of the hill region. 

The notice also mentioned that strict action will be taken against those who disobey the directive as per the law.
