Victims of enforced disappearances  demand justice in Lakshmipur

LAKSHMIPUR, Aug 30, 2025 (BSS) –On The International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, families of seven individuals ,who were forcibly disappeared in Lakshmipur more than a decade ago, today gathered in a human chain demanding justice and accountability. 
The victims were allegedly abducted by law enforcement forces under the administration of the Awami League-led government and their whereabouts still remain unknown.

The protest, organized by the organization 'Mayer Dak', held  in front of Lakshmipur Press Club at around 11:30 am.
The event was attended by family members of the disappeared as well as representatives from the human rights organization 'Odhikar'.

Emon Omar, district president of Mayer Dak and families of other victims of enforced disappearance including BNP leader Omar Faruk, Jubo Dal leader Iqbal Mahmud Jewel and BNP members Belal Hossain, Raju and Alamgir were also present. 
Speaking on the occasion, the family members of the victims demanded return of the victims and said those who involved in enforced disappearance should be brought to book.
