Protesters demand arrest of attackers on Nurul Haq

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 30, 2025 (BSS)- Leaders and workers of Gano Odhikar Parishad (GOP) and Student Alliance on Anti-Discrimination (SAD) today stage agitation and blockade programs in front of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) headquarters demanding arrest and punishment of culprits responsible for attacking Gona Adhikar President Nurul Haq Nur.
 
The blockade program around the CMP HQ in Dampara area in the city lasted for one hour beginning from 2 pm and the protesters agreed to withdraw the program after CMP officials assured them of taking proper action against miscreants and arms hoodlums including absconding Jatiya Party leaders. 

Before the blockade program, the GOP and SAD brought out a procession and put barricade on road in Sholoshahar No-2 gate and Muradpur areas,  resulting prolonged traffic gridlock and suffering of the commuters. 

They also staged demonstration and held protest rally at different parts of the city after attack on GOP president Nur in the capital yesterday evening.

Speaking at a rally Central Organizing Secretary of GOP Lokman Hossain said they are determined to launch fresh action program if the government fail to bring book the attackers of Nurul Haq Nur within next 24 hours.
 
They also demanded the CMP to arrest immediately JP Presidium Member Solaiman Alam Shet and other accused who were implicated in different cases in connection of killing and attacks on students-masses during July Uprising last year. 

GOP Standing Committee Member Jasim Uddin Akash , Central Joint Secretary Kamrun Nahar Doly, SAD city coordinator Ridwan Siddique, Member Nusrat Jahan Pinti, NCP Member Azgar Ali, among others, attended the rally.
