Milton, Kamrul elected as president, general secy of Meherpur BNP

MEHERPUR, Aug 30, 2025 (BSS) - Javed Masud Milton and Advocate Kamrul Islam have been elected as president and general secretary of Meherpur District Unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) respectively. 

The district BNP conference was held today at Meherpur Government College ground.

BNP Vice Chairman Professor Nargis Begum was present as the chief guest at the conference.

Meherpur District BNP Convener Javed Masud Milton presided over the programme while BNP Executive Committee Organizing Secretary Anindya Islam Amit was present as main speaker.

The chief guest in her speech said Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman rescued democracy from Baksal (one-party rule) and introduced multi-party democracy and Begum Khaleda Zia introduced parliamentary democracy from the presidential system.

Moderated by district BNP member secretary Advocate Kamrul Hasan, it was addressed, among others, by Aman Ullah Aman, member of the Chairperson's Advisory Council and member of the Khulna Divisional Conference Preparation Committee, Babu Jayanta Kumar Kundu, Co-Organizing Secretary of the Executive Committee, Kushtia District BNP Convener Kutub Uddin Ahmed, Magura District BNP Convener Ali Ahmed, Jashore District BNP Convener Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, Chuadanga District BNP Convener Mahmud Hasan Khan Babu and Meherpur District BNP Joint Convener Md. Amirul Islam.

Javed Masud Milton, was elected unopposed, as the president and Advocate Kamrul Islam as the general secretary in the conference.
