Freight train derails in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 30, 2025 (BSS) - A freight coach of a Chattogram-bound train derailed today in Mirsarai upazila of the district, with no reported casualties.

The accident occurred around 12 noon near Bartakia railway station in Khayashra union. 

Train movement on the main Chattogram-bound line was suspended for about two hours until 2 pm, while operations on the sideline and the Dhaka-bound lane continued normally.

According to Bartakia railway station sources, the goods-laden coach of the freight train derailed. A rescue team promptly arrived and successfully lifted the coach's wheels back onto the track, restoring normal train movement.
