JHENAIDAH, Aug 31, 2025 (BSS) - A schoolboy died from snakebite at 
Dhalharachandra village under Shailkupa upazila of the district on Saturday 
evening.

The deceased was Swad Hossain, 8, a class three student of Chaibhanga 
Government Primary School and son of Alam Mandal of the village.

A snake bit Swad while he was sleeping with his parents. At first he was 
given local treatment. However, when his condition deteriorated, he was taken 
to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital where he died last evening.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shailkupa Police Station Masum Khan confirmed.
