One held with fake currency worth Tk 45,000

KHULNA, Aug 31, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested a man with counterfeit notes worth Taka 45,000 from the Sonadanga Bus Terminal area of the city last night. 

The detainee was identified as Salauddin, 41, son of late Abdul Salam of East Goalchamat Betuabari Road under Faridpur's Kotwali Police Station. 

Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Assistant Commissioner Khondkar Hossain Ahmed said acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid at the bus terminal area under Sonadanga police station around 9.30pm yesterday. 

The law enforcers arrested Salauddin while he was loitering for a customer. Police also recovered 90 counterfeit notes of Taka 500 denomination from his possession, he said.

A case was filed against him under the Special Powers Act with Sonadanga Police Station today.
