MEHERPUR, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) - Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man along with a foreign-made pistol, three bullets, and two magazines from Gangni upazila of the district this morning.

The arrestee was identified as Golam Mustafa alias Daku, 50, son of late Azizul Haque of Chaugachha village under Gangni upazila.

According to a press release issued by RAB-12, a team conducted a raid at Mustafa's residence early today with assistance from army personnel and recovered the firearm and ammunition.

Several criminal cases are reportedly pending against him with different police stations in the region.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gangni Police Station Bani Israel confirmed that a case has been filed in this connection.
