NAOGAON, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) - Two minor children drowned in a pond at 
Binodpur village in Safapur union under Mahadevpur upazila of the district 
today.

The deceased were Arafat, 6, son of Azizur Rahman and Naim, 4, son of Sirajul 
Islam of the village.

Locals said, without knowing of others, Arafat and Naim fell into the pond 
and drowned while playing with other children on the bank of the water body 
near their house this afternoon. 

Later, the bodies of the duo recovered from the pond.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mahadevpur Police Station Shahin Reza confirmed.
