RAJSHAHI, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS) - Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Muhammad Abu Sufiyan has called for performing duties with professional competence and skills.

He came up with the call while addressing a briefing parade of the newly joined constables at RMP Headquarters here today as the chief guest.

Welcoming the constables who joined RMP from different units of Bangladesh Police, Abu Sufiyan said discipline and honesty are the preconditions to perform duties as police members.

The Commissioner said utmost emphasis should be given on ensuring services and security to the public. "Our prime goal is to attain trust and confidence of the public in general through delivering legal services," he said, adding for this there is no way but to perform duties with humanity, sincerity and professional skills.

Commissioner Sufiyan also said dress rules should always be followed strictly side by side with using social media through following selective directions.

Besides, he said the cops should have clear ideas about what can be done and what can't be done as police members. "All of you should study the RMP laws and different other rules and regulations and enforce those at the time of performing duties," he directed.

Additional Commissioner Nazmul Hassan and Deputy Commissioner Khorshed Alam, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
