DHAKA, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) – Police have arrested two people on charges of amassing money by deceiving several students through promising them with providing IELTS exam question papers and answer sheets from the capital’s Banani area.
 
The arrested have been identified as Panna Poonam Howlader alias Keya (26) and Md. Mamun Khan (37).
 
The duo was arrested during a raid at the 'Amazon Lily Lake View Residence' residential hotel under Banani Police Station around 9:30 pm on Saturday, according to a police press release.
 
They also seized Tk 8.38lakh and eight mobile phone sets from their possessions.
 
According to Banani Police Station, a victim, Md. Nadit Hasan Rocky used to attend coaching at Queen Global Consultant and IELTS. 

Through this organization, the accused contacted Rocky and other candidates and offered to provide question papers and answer sheets to pass the IELTS exam.
 
In good faith, the victim believed the accused and agreed to pay Tk 180,000. Later, he came to know that the accused had taken Tk one to three lakh from each candidate.
 
A case was filed in this connection.
