Former UP member killed in Magura road accident

MAGURA, Sept 8, 2025 (BSS)- A former Union Parishad (UP) member was killed in a road accident at Amuria Mondolpara area under Kuchiamora Union in Sadar upazila of the district. 

The deceased was identified as Md. Sayem Uddin (56), son of late Mohammad Ali of Baharbagh village under No. 11 Gopalgram Union in Magura Sadar upazila. He was a former UP member of the same union.

Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred around 7 pm on Sunday when Sayem Uddin's motorcycle collided with a dog, leaving him critically injured. 

Locals rescued him and took him to Magura 250-bed District Hospital. Doctors there referred him to Dhaka for better treatment. But he succumbed to his injuries on the way near Faridpur.

Magura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ayub Ali said the body was handed over to his family as no complaint was lodged.
