CHATTOGRAM, Sept 8, 2025 (BSS)- The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hathazari Model Police Station was withdrawn last night following a clash between madrasa students and Jashne Julus supporters in Hathazari area here over a post on Facebook.
The OC Abu Kawser Mahmud was withdrawn from duty around 11pm, said Additional Superintendent of Police (Hathazari circle) Kazi Tarek Aziz today.
Mahmud is now on leave, with no further details provided, he added.
At least 80 people were injured when a clash broke out on September 6 between students of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam Hathazari Madrasa and supporters of Jashne Julus in Hathazari upazila of Chattogram, centering a Facebook post.
