RANGPUR, Sept 09, 2025 (BSS) - Ten illegal single-barrel guns and 36 rounds of rubber cartridges were recovered during a joint operation in the Tajhat Metropolitan Police Station area of Rangpur city early Today. 
 
The army and police forces of Tajhat Metropolitan Police Station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RPMP) conducted the operation in the Shutkir Arat area on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway at 1:30 am, a press release from the RPMP Media Cell said.
 
A team from the army's Rangpur camp, Tajhat Metropolitan Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Nazmul Hasan Molla and his supporting forces participated in the operation. 
 
During the drive, the joint forces recovered two white plastic bags abandoned inside a garden bordering the area about 100 meters south of the Shutkir Arat area on the western side of the highway. 
 
After searching the bags, 10 single-barrel guns and 36 rounds of rubber cartridges were recovered. 
 
The recovered weapons and ammunition have been brought to Tajhat Metropolitan Police Station along with the original seizure list. 
 
A General Diary (GD) has been filed at Tajhat Metropolitan Police Station in this regard. 
 
Further legal action is being taken in the incident.
