RANGPUR, Sept 09, 2025 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the main accused in the sensational rape case of a teenage girl from Galeha Kantamoni village under Sadar Police Station of Panchagarh on Monday afternoon.
 
The detainee is Md Ramit Islam, 24, son of Md Zahid Islam of village Pouro Khal Para under Sadar Police Station Panchagarh district, said a press release issued here tonight. 
 
The victim girl of the same area was on her way to her maternal uncle's house when the accused shrewdly called her and took her to his grandmother's house and raped her at about 3.30 pm on August 21, 2025.
 
Later, the victim's mother filed a rape case with Panchagarh Sadar Police Station on August 22, 2025. 
 
On a tip off, a smart team of RAB-13’s Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-2 from Nilphamari Camp conducted a raid in Galeha Kantamoni village of Panchagarh and arrested the absconding main accused Md Ramit Islam at 2 pm on Monday.
 
The arrested accused has been handed over to Panchagarh Sadar Police Station for further legal action, the release added.
