Two looters held with ammunition in Khulna

KHULNA, Sept 10, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Detective Branch (DB), Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) arrested two alleged looters along with 41 rounds of live bullets and four Chinese rifle chargers from the city early today.

The arrestees are Rahul, 30, son of Md Babul of Baniakhamar area, and Samrat, 28, son of Mizanur Rahman of Bagmara School Lane area in the city.

Based on information, a DB team conducted a drive around 12:30 am in front of Lion's School and College on Sher-e-Bangla Road and arrested the duo while they were loitering suspiciously, said DB Officer-in-Charge Taymur Islam.

According to police, on August 5, 2024, a group of miscreants, including the arrestees, attacked Khulna Radio Station, vandalized and set fire to government property, and looted arms and ammunition from on-duty police personnel.

A case was filed with Sonadanga Police Station against both named and unnamed individuals in connection with the incident.
