BNP distributes relief materials to 700 flood-hit families in C'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Sept 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) 
has distributed relief materials among 700 flood-affected families at 
Namojagannathpur village under Durlavpur union in Shibganj upazila of the 
district today.

The relief materials included rice, sugar, pulses, chira, potatoes and oil. 

Former lawmaker and freedom fighter Alhajj Professor Md. Shahjahan Miah, 
advisor to the BNP Chairperson, was present at the distribution function as 
the chief guest held at the village.

In his speech, the chief guest said the BNP has always been by the side of 
the people. If a permanent dam had been built to prevent the erosion of the 
Padma River, the people of this region would not be affected by the floods 
and erosion.

Therefore, if the BNP comes to power in the future, a permanent dam will be 
built to prevent the Padma river erosion, he added.

Shibganj Upazila BNP Convener Alhaj Md. Ashraful Haque, its member secretary 
Md. Tosikul Alam, Shibganj Municipality BNP member secretary Md. Alamgir 
Kabir Jewel, Durlavpur Union BNP president Md. Mosharraf Hossain, its general 
secretary Md. Parvez Ali and leaders of upazila and union BNP and their 
affiliates were present during the relief distribution. 

The relief programme will be conducted in different unions of the upazila in 
phases.
