Palm seed plantation programme held in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, Sept 12, 2025 (BSS) - To combat the adverse impacts of climate change and reduce casualties caused by lightning strikes a Palm seed plantation programme began today in Kaliganj upazila of the district.

As part of the programme, around 500 palm seeds are being planted in Chalabhara area under the Shundarpur Durgapur union of the upazila.

The plantation programme was inaugurated at 10:30am by members of Kaliganj BNP unit.

To face the impact of natural disaster and climate change, increase of afforestation is needed.  

Such initiatives are being taken to reduce the negative impacts of climate change.
