Training held to raise awareness on septic tank hazards in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, Sept 12, 2025 (BSS) - A training programme on the risks and precautions associated with septic tanks was held in the district today under the slogan "In disaster and accident, always first – always beside all," organized by the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The training session was arranged on Friday at the Fire Service and Civil Defence office here for sanitation workers and construction laborers.

Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Assistant Director of the Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence Office said the training aimed to reduce the risk of fatalities caused while working inside septic tanks and fires originating from gas cylinders. 

A total of 150 sanitation workers and construction laborers of various levels participated in the training programme.

He further stated that the training included techniques for extinguishing gas cylinder fires and basic precautionary measures for working in abandoned or under-construction septic tanks.
